Quo vadis - Exhaust aftertreatment?
SymposiumEroeffnung.gif
In order to meet increasing requirements, exhaust aftertreatment has to become more efficient in future. Consequently the question:

"Quo vadis – exhaust afterteatment?”

rose. In celebration of its 10th anniversary the Research Association for Diesel Emission Control (registered association) attended to it on 1 and 2 July 2010. 110 representatives from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Finland tried to find possible solutions and discussed together the development of the exhaust aftertreatment during this festive celebration. The symposium was accompanied by a technical exhibition.

Symposium_Ausstellung.gifWith this symposium the FAD created a neutral platform for the exchange of information and the discussion of the topical issue from different perspectives. The great acceptance of this symposium once more showed that the demand in competitive neutral exchange in this field remains high.

Of course, electro mobility will stay the long-term objective, but the way there is long. The reduction of harmful emissions of combustion engines by various technologies available and alternative fuels is a much quicker realizable and competitive solution. Now pollutant emissions have to be reduced with the technologies available and simultaneously the consumption as to be brought to a minimum in order to guarantee a balanced cost-value-ratio. Exhaust aftertreatment has to be configured for coming emission limits, become user-optimized and ensure moderate costs. In order to gain these requirements, the FAD will also in future provide discussion platforms to develop a competitive neutral exchange of ideas.

We thank all speakers for their technical and very interesting contributions as well as all exhibitors for their effort and the participants for their interest in the discussions.
